Both my professional and personal experiences have led me to working with pregnant women and mothers. My expertise and passion for this work has blossomed since I first started working with mothers in 2011.
The majority of my experience with mothers has come from working at a local hospital as a perinatal social worker. I have worked with mothers at all stages of pregnancy, including those who have lost a pregnancy, those on bed rest, those with a baby in NICU and those who are dealing with postpartum adjustment issues.
I am dedicated to providing support to mothers and being a mom myself, I understand the joys and hardships! Being a mom has helped me realize the very real need for counseling for mothers at all stages of pregnancy or motherhood. I will provide you with empathetic, compassionate, and open minded therapy and promise to collaborate with you and never shame you!
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I received my Master’s Degree in Social Work from The University of Texas at Austin and I have a BS in Psychology from Texas State University where I graduated magna cum laude. I enjoy continuing my learning and professional growth by active participation in continuing education and local groups including The Central Texas Perinatal Coalition, Greater Austin Social Workers, and the Austin Chapter of First3Years.
Working alongside you, with your help and input, I will create a customized plan for your therapy based on your goals and needs. While each person is unique, my therapy practice is generally influenced by evidenced based techniques including strengths based, solution focused and cognitive behavioral therapies. For potential new clients I offer a free 20 minute consultation to determine if I can be a good fit for your therapy needs.
